Nomadic Narrative

emphasizing the invisible and underground nature of life

Mission

Change is something I crave, not fear. I am quixotic, and if anything a true Gen X archetype. I dream of a world without borders, and also one in which diversity thrives, in peace.

Having lived largely a nomadic life, I’ve developed an insatiable passion for exploration. I was born in a small town in Southern Oregon dependent on the logging industry. The instability of the economy and the search for new opportunities led my family to the Alaskan pipeline, to Washington State, and to Southern California. From there, I’ve picked up the pace traveling, studying and/or working in over twenty countries.

While everyone talks about the need to identify your “niche” on the Web, I find myself wanting to talk about everything from rural tourism to luxury travel. Between freelance writing for print and online publications, penning luxury hotel reviews and teaching English as a second language, I have the freedom to explore many travel facets.

The truth is I’m a person with diverse interests, which leads me to my niche. I think incorporating some degree of diversity into your travel philosophy is a good way to develop perspective. Pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone, or exploring, is key to seeing things from different angles. A new perspective is what encourages us to self-reflect and consequently grow…into tolerant and compassionate human beings. I’m not perfect, but I strive everyday to make this a reality.

I’ve started Nomadic Narrative to highlight slow and responsible travel which gives us the time and frame of mind to explore, and a contemporary nomadic lifestyle where people live with less to gain more freedom to explore and experience our incredible world.

Nomadic Narrative seeks to inspire interest in and compassion for the many ways humans organize themselves around the world through spontaneous and informative narratives, and interactive dialogues. So, please comment as everyone is part of the journey!
